In 1938 William Filben designed a 30 record changer that David Rockola decided to produce under the ‘Filben’ name. Before any were produced, Mr. Filben passed away and his heirs made the folly of deciding to produce the Jukebox away from Rock-Ola. Delayed by the Second World War and a variety of financing problems, it wasn’t until 1948 that the Filben Maestro came off the production line. Unfortunately, only 896 machines were produced before Rock-Ola sued them out of existence, making the Filben one of the rarest jukeboxes around.
