1932 Horch 670 Cabriolet coachwork by Glaser
Horch produced a very limited number of magnificent 6-liter, twelve-cylinder automobiles that are exceedingly rare and sought after by collectors today. This 670 Cabriolet is believed to be 1 of 2 in existence with elegant coachwork by Glaser and was delivered new to London for use by Joachim Von Ribbentrop, the German ambassador to England. At the outbreak of World War II it was confiscated by the British government as a war prize. Among the many interesting features this car possesses are reclining front seats and one of the world’s first synchronized 4-speed transmissions. In the 1980’s, this Horch was a 98.5 show winner before it was acquired by famous classic car collector Noel Thompson, who spared no expense to re-restore the Horch to its beautiful color combination its wears today. His efforts were rewarded at the prestigious 1990 CCCA Eastern Grand Classic where it received a perfect 100 score in the company of some the best of the best classic cars in the world. Recently, this exotic classic has been quietly kept in the collection of a very private car aficionado, obscured from public view for nearly 30 years. A masterpiece of engineering and style, 12-cylinder Horch automobiles, especially coach-built open cars such as this, are seldom are offered for sale, presenting a unique and exciting opportunity for the astute collector.
