In 1939 the new 6C 2500 models came out to replace the old 6C 2300B.  The 6C 2500 was similar to the previous type, but had a higher performance with increased horsepower (95 bhp) and better gearing for a higher top speed.

All the sport types had a 5-seat body manufactured by outside coachbuilders and mounted on a 118 inch wheelbase chassis.

This automobile was imported into the United States by Earl Porter of Chicago in 1961.  In 1965 the car was bought by John Jumer of Elkhart.  The car sat for 25 years in storage until its sale to Malcolm Harris.  It was Mr. Harris who commissioned a complete restoration on the car in 1994.  It took over a five years span with many hours spent by Mr. Harris himself.  The car was finished just prior to the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance, where it took home two top prices.  The Blackhawk Collection acquired the car in 2000 and has shown it with great success as well.
