This classic Model 91 Buick Limited Sedan was built during the last full year of production before WW II. In 1940, Buick had built their Limited model on two different wheelbases, but in 1941 only the longer 139 inch wheelbase model was offered. The Limited was completely restyled in 1941. Done was the vertical, upright look and stance, in favor of a lower, aerodynamic appearance. Only 1,223 Series 91 Limited Touring Sedans were built in 1941, and this example underwent a comprehensive, body-off restoration using rare NOS parts wherever possible. Presented in a striking shade of dark blue, the brightwork dances off the finish, including the “At Speed” chrome accents upon the fender skirts. Inside, passengers will revel in two-tone broadcloth upholstery with fantastic details such as engine-turned aluminum and exquisite wood trim. It even has a Sonomatic pushbutton radio and rear windshield blinds. The Fireball 8 engine is exceptionally well detailed and fitted with dome-shaped pistons and twin downdraft carburetors, both of which conspire to help the 320 CI inline 8-cylinder mill produce 165 HP. A 3-speed sliding-gear transmission and 4-wheel hydraulic drum brakes make driving the imposing car more enjoyable. Complete with bumper guards, whitewall tires, chrome hubcaps and chrome trim rings, this Buick is dressed to impress, making a statement through understated elegance. Today very few are known to have survived, and only a handful have been restored to such a high degree of originality.
