This Delahaye was produced just in time to debut at the 1948 Paris Auto Show and although built after WW II its design still resembles the grand styling of many pre-war Delahaye cars. The early history of the car is unknown, but in the 1950’s a woman named Helene Hostettler purchased it in Switzerland. She drove it for a few years then exported it to California, where she and her husband moved to. The car was on the east coast during the 1960’s. In 1973 Bud Cohn bought it then sold it to Walter Appel in 1975. Lawrence Smith of Wichita was the next owner in 1997 and quickly sold it the next year 1998 to Chuck Swimmer of San Diego. Mr. Swimmer had the car completely restored by the Allen Taylor Company. It was presented at Pebble Beach where it won First in Class. The car has won multiple shows including Meadow Brook, Newport Beach, Palos Verde, Keels and Wheels, CCCA, and AACA.
